Optic Nest & CMG out in the open!
We're proud! Two new releases on the same day. Isn't that a real treat. CMG's psychedelic pop wisdom shows it's true face on his »Distractions« single. Like a fancy speedboat on a rampage in the arctic circle, shades on! On the other hand, Optic Nest's »Entertainment« LP makes Tellus spin the other way. With its blurry melodic synths and narrative one liners. That LP will have global warming feel like a good hair day! And it's interesting how these releases connect. Sounding nothing alike, they both share an electric fling for melodic treatment, 10ies style!
In other worlds, Martin Vogel, our old earring, just put out his follow up. A 12" called »Tough« on Persuado (Italians Do It Better). That's one is a true killer!
This was one hell of a summer, but we felt the fall just got better!!
Evil Moisture and the feelgood summer
We're presenting the first of the three summer releases today. The Evil Moisture – Silicon Suckers C26 tape. It's one good tape. Up to date French electronic music in the way we fancy it. Can't really get how they do it. But it's there. It's a classic 50 copies, double sided duocolor paper inserts, yellow tapes (with tabs in, if you'd like to erase). As far as the CMG – Distractions 7" and Optic Nest – Entertainment LP goes. They will be out in mid August. A little delay is everything!
JUNE: Optic Nest! CMG! Evil Moisture!
This summer will be fantastic in the Moptaco Dics world! Optic Nest will finally hit the streets with the Entertainment LP. Two sides of wonderful weirdness produced during the two last years! We are also pleased to put ut the first ever release by funk-falsetto boyscout CMG. A basic 7" called Distractions. In sweden we call it sommarplåga. Plauge of the summer! Evil Moisture will have a fantastic tape out as well. A blurry, bass-bossa, vocal-harmonic crash test. Really a complement to the magic LP on iDEAL! Bathingsuits on!!!

Entertainment
And how we waited. Entertainment, the debut album of Optic Nest has been in our minds for years. After making us stunned with his eclectic tapes on the infamous defunct KSP label and the 7" we put out, we could only in our dreams wish for something like this. A pounding, entertaining and electric ten tracks that somehow recalls geniouses / lunatics Hans Edler and Bruce Haack. It's a strange blend of decayed tapeloops, clear vocals, drum machines low in the mix, feedbacking delays and sequenced synthesizers. Optic Nest started working on this album in 2008 while passing the magix bridge into the EMS studio in Stockholm. Patching up those old Buchla and Serge synthesizers. After running the recorded tracks through his old stuff in his Bedroom studio and editing for two years the album was done. Clean and simple.
300 made, with mental full color cover and insert by Henrik Wallin, Mattias Gustafsson and Daniel Fagerström. And of course it comes with a side order of MP3s.

Distractions
Distractions is the first song to leave the outboard of The Shelter studio, the place of musical exploration for one Carl Malmgren. Having put years and years in the songs that will eventually become a whole stunning album in 2011, Distractions is where it all begins. Distractions forms a kind of bermuda triangle of 70ies, 80ies and 90ies pop. Shuggie Otis psyched out soul connects to No Jacket Required-era Phil Collins and then to MJ's Dangerous album. With this in the mix, what could possibly go wrong. Blasting sexophones, drum machines and percussion run like a freight train on the autobahn. This topped with CMG's falsetto overdubs, synthesizer cheeze and hammering rhodes. It' an anthem for kids in wombs, hard working designers and the dancers of every rotten club you ever visited.
The B-side is favvo-fluffer Richard Brain's take on the track. Pitched down saxes turned inside out next to that old Wasp synth. Pure brilliance.
200 made, with fantastic folded letter-type cover by Olaf Hajek. Comes with Moptacostyle MP3 download for all.

Silicon Suckers
Andy Bolus is one damn fine man. He's been creating brilliant and electric music for a near 20 years now. And always with a technical doomsday feel to it. After seeing him do THE liveperformance of 2010 at the closing of La Miroaterie in Paris, we're utterly excited to have him come give us some dirt.
This tape is a recording that complements, comments and completes »If You Want To Fuck The Sky, Teach Your Cock To Fly«, the LP masterpiece on iDEAL Recordings. Andy teaming up with Brigitte Bordelle makes everything so clear. Together they ride his burnt and broken machines next to spastic splatter of vocals and dumpster electrics. The A-side is some kind of twisted ketamin metal that evolves like a malfunctioned Transformer. Side B is more of a cut up thing with Moog, taped Bowie (?) and Brigittes mental vocals. One can only wonder what that Khazakstan woman is saying.

Protection
»How you steer your life, you can never never know what’s right. Who can run you life, you will never never know all right.«
How can we even start to tell you about this release? Too many days have passed since a new release from Stockholm's The Je Ne Sais Quoi saw the light of day. This one side only 12" bring them to life in the most interesting way. This is a band you can trust. No matter what. A murky bass drowns in a hi-NRG disco, with hints of that old Eno. Jilted synthesizers, moldular-bongos and flanged guitars clash against lead singer JZI's wonderful and desperate vocals. The song deals with the very protective nature of manind. Nothing wrong with that. The 12" mix extends over almost 11 minutes before drowning in filtersweeps and wobbly tapedelay. Classic! The remix by Richard Brain is something of a complement to the TJNSQ-song. Se it as a cover or a mix from another dimension. As if Cowley and Moroder ever made love IRL.
The disc contains link to MP3 dowload. 2010 style!

If We Were Young
Barsebäck is the new moniker of one Martin Linder, a free spirited character in the Stockholm underground. His musical past talk of everything from raw garage rock to straight up full blown noise. On this 30 minute recording, which is the first ever, he teamed up with Gustav Nygren (New Rose & Borås Energi) and Daniel Söderberg (Dwayne Sodahberk). It takes of as a bubbly drone hallllellllullllja-moment travels through a wierder Synth to Sonic Youthy guitarpassage and ends in the best cover version of Neil Youngs »Tonight's The Night« one has ever heard!! Hence the title. A must have for lovers of the old Young. Done deal!

Död Metall
Altar of Flies dude goes solo!!! After spending years with moniker Altar Of Flies and alter-ego Worms, Mattias Gustafsson releases his first ever tape with his christian name. Mattias Gustafssons solo work is a smooth handgesture to John Carpenter soundtracks, pre-sequencer Tangerine Dream and the dirt of Rune Lindblad.Melted loops contrast deep-fried synths in small delicate movements. Totally undistorted and melodic!! Beautifuly crafted metal cover with spraypainted jeans-girdle.

Golden Hiss
New Hit-duo from Sewer Election and Optic Nest dudes This duo by Dan Johansson Vit (Sewer Election) and Daniel Zoot Fagerström (Optic Nest) has a sound of their own. Based ONLY on white noise and hiss, the band has created a techno-like sound, without any hints of dance. Basic noise-hymns and fanfares of buzz that seem to twist and bend. And yes, it's Minimal and strange in a way.

Prata Normalt
The Talk Normal sound is very unique. Their music being the wikipedia of New York's no wave-scene and at the same time delivering the very FUTURE of music. They are what Teenage Jesus And The Jerks should have been, and what DNA was but noone truly understood. Blasting drumbeats with a hard jazz-feel backed up by walls of noisy guitars and looped feedback-noises. Extreme in a way, but still basic pop. Vocally they sing about short men and smiling kids in a way that could only be desribed as the bastad child of Diamanda Galas and D Boon. Still being the child of teenage Kim Gordon and Laurie Anderson. The CDR is a cut-up documentation from a series of live performances by the band from Brooklyn, Rochester, Boston and Washington DC. All recieved through basic non-dolby tape. 20 copies made. All with unique creepy collages by Daniel Fagge Fagerström.

Night Touch
The second LP by this monumental swedish band! Under the innocuous name of Knife And Ape, four boys from the North: Rohbau (guitar, synths, etc.), Geo (synths, etc.), Marten (drums, etc.) and Scott (vocals, etc.), with bass-section assistance by the Kid Commando masterman Laagrrluv - create an often awesome pre-industrial vibe that explore a dark state of mind only hinted at by '60s psychedelia. Taking cues from Chrome, Suicide, Wolf Eyes, Jesus Lizard, The Residents and anyone who ever made home tapes in their bedroom, the band's dense, chaotic science-fiction epics are vivid vinyl nightmares - a thick blend of mechanical noises, filtered, twisted voices and fantastic, bizarre lyrics - that flesh out a frightening world both absorbing and repellent. Though conventional song structures are preserved to the point where tracks can be distinguished (indeed, the band's early efforts aren't all that far from semi-normal guitar rock), Knife And Ape's strength is their ability to create sounds of horrible beauty that transcend discrete musical units. Their sonic intensity is something to behold. Comes with thick sleeve and inlay poster and MP3 download.

Plays The Buchla 200
The new release by Optic Nest is somewhat of historical nature. Recorded entirely on the old Buchla 200 system at Ems, the swedish Elektric Muzic Ztudio. Well quite. For you nerds it's partially controlled by Serge Sequencer, with a single Serge Oscillator and through the Serge Analog Delay. The recording as such is two 20 min tracks. The A side being a strictly and raw sequenced track, the B side being more of »exprimental« character. You chose your side!!The Buchla is a monster, Optic Nest has told us. But this tape is beautiful in it's whole composition. »Music for driving and drinking« as stated by the composer himself.

Pick A D
Through analouge and digital transmissions to his harddrive for a couple of years now, Martin Vogel has created the most blastin Teckno / Acid / Wierd stuff around. Underströmmar
First ever release from the main man from Kassettbolaget Svart Pyramid (KSP). Music that speaks of old rotten seas and treasures buried in the low sand. Sounds like blubb-blubb at times. Underwater sounds at it's best.

Affentanz
Vic Sinex has made music under as many monikers as songs he has written. This sums up his love for NDW and Industrial Techno (DAF / Liaisons Dangereuses). Had to threaten the man to get it to release. There are many MP3s with this man. Total classic release!

Harl Chypst Agnoxiaktz
Ranging from Technologic Punk to Funky Rave (?). Contains more or less classics from EB's early era. Bad, low sound though. The releaseparty was a magic night at GO's old place. EB played his first live gig and was supported by a Pre-Miniman's solo gig.
